Broke my job hunt into a battle rhythm: 20 minutes of LinkedIn Learning daily (free via Military and veterans I Global Impact), two informational reach-outs a week, and one resume tweak tied to a posting — networking + continuous learning moved the needle. If that’s too much, start with just the two reach-outs and log them; consistency beats bursts.

@harper_j95 building on the cadence idea, I block a weekly 30-minute “skills retrofit”: grab a posting, map two MOS wins to it using the O*NET crosswalk (https://www.onetonline.org/crosswalk/MOS/), then post a quick example so my network sees momentum. Small caveat: certs helped, but a tiny demo or before/after metric got me interviews faster — my resume finally set off more alerts than the metal detector.

I started recording 90-second Loom demos (https://www.loom.com) where I recreate a task from a job posting using free tools, then pin them in my LinkedIn Featured; it turned my military projects into proof and got me two callbacks in a week. If your past work’s sensitive, mock the data but keep the walkthrough tight to show that “continuous learning” in action.

Agree with @mweston4 on keeping a rhythm: I keep a tiny ‘after-action’ log — mission, action, result with a number — and when a posting lands I plug in two entries and tweak tools; it’s like a range card for recruiters. Small caveat: don’t overfit to the JD; keep your core story intact, ‘show, don’t tell.’.
